    'La Caja' obtains the Falcó d'Or to the best film of first
    Ibiza & Formentera International Film Festival

       The first edition of the Ibiza international film festival came to a close on the 7th of June with the awards ceremony in the Cloisters of the town hall of Ibiza town, followed by a dinner in the restaurant El Ayoun in San Rafael.
        After a closely fought battle the jury finally came in with a decision on day 7 itself at 3.00 in the afternoon.
        Best film of the festival, the LA HACIENDA Falco d'or was won by the Spanish film 'LA CAJA', directed by the aptly named JUAN CARLOS FALCO and starring ANGELA MOLINA who took Best Actress award sponsored by El AYOUN. Best supporting actress sponsored by FIESTA HOTELS was also awarded to ELVIRA MINGUEZ in LA CAJA.

       The First Ibiza and Formentera International Film Festival featured, at Regio movie theater (Sant Antoni), 'Sinfonía de ilegales'.
       During the exhibition, cast and crew from the film were present: starring the film, Miguel Molina; four times nominee to Critic Cinema Awards and soundtrack creator, Luis Arquer, co-starring Emilio de Marchi and Director, José Luís de Damas.
       Sinfonía de ilegales’ deals “exclusively with love” said de Damas, “it's a homage to friendship, to street musics that give us everything for free”.

       The argentinian actress Barbara Lombardo presented her film “Cautiva” in a side program of the first Ibiza y Formentera International Film Festival.
        In the film, Bárbara plays a 15 year old girl who is expelled from her class in a very strict catolic school in Buenos Aires. When she goes to court, the judge tells her that her real name is Sofia Lombardi, the daughter of a young architect couple that disappeared during the seventies. The judge presents her to her biological grandmother. The girl, overwhelmed by this new information, escapes the court building. From this moment on, she starts searching for her real identity.

       After 'Tideland's premier at Regio movie teather (Sant Antoni) during the first Ibiza and Formentera International Film Festival, Terry Gilliam has given a master movie class at Aramon Ibiza, where the press center is located.
       "I make films with european sensibility”, said Gilliam, “there are messages for americans that the rest of the world don't have to listen because they don't need to”.

      The Ibiza and Formentera International Film Festival gather yesterday nine young actors, eight of whom were spanish, to debate about future of spanish film industry, at Aramon press center of the festival.
       Achieving the objective of becoming a 'must' for actors, directors and other profesionals of the film industry, the festival had a round table, from which we present some of the statements.

       The first edition of the Ibiza & Formentera International Film Festival, commited to became the center of the Film Industry, gathers today at Aramon, an outstanding group of Directors in order to discuss the film making process in Spain.
    Journalist Javier Angulo, will lead a round table where three expert directors, Antonio Hernández, Juanma Bajo Ulloa and Antonio del Real, will debate with young directors Jaime Marqués, Pedro Romano del Pino and David and Tristán Ulloa. The main topic will be the role of Directors and the complications on getting a film done, mainly at author's films.

       Sir Alan Parker is the latest addition to the patrons of the IbizaIff joining actor John Hurt and quirky director Terry Gilliam.
       Sir Alan Parker today announced his attachment to the Ibiza IFF as one of its patrons.

       Sir Alan's carreer began in 1975 with Bugsy Malone which won 8 awards. 1978 saw him take 2 Oscars with Midnight Express and 6 Golden Globes.

       The With only 48 days left to celebrate the first edition of the Ibiza and Formentera International Film Festival (IFF) the organization is completing the introduction of members of the already prestigious jury, as well as presenting the list of films that will be in competition to receive the Falcon d´Or.
       The director of the festival Xavier Benlloch, and co-director Gail Fear presented yesterday the latest new addition to the jury comitee of the event which will be celeberated between the 29 of May to the 7 of June 2007 converting the island in a world capital of the film industry.

       The London launch of the IbizaIff which took place in the Century Club in Shaftesbury Avenue on Friday 9th March was a huge success.

       Pacha Group places 22 clubs worldwide at disposal of the IbizaIFF.
       Pacha Group joins the growing list of sponsors of the Ibiza Film Festival which takes place from 29 May to 7 June and which will convert the islands of Ibiza and Formentera into the worlds movie capital for the ten days of the festival.
       Eric Wahl, the financial director of Pacha Group also placed the many hotels, restaurants and fashion boutiques that the company owns in New York, London and Germany at the disposition of the Festival.
